When Jesus Says I Am

“Identity”

John 8:48-59

 

Revelation is always an invitation to intimacy.

When Jesus Says I Am:

  1. He is rooting His identity in his relationship with the Father.
    1. An intimate relationship with the Father
    2. A surrendered relationship with the Father
  2. He is explaining His identity in unmistakable
    1. Jesus is God’s Son.
    2. Jesus is God.
  3. He is revealing His identity as God with us.
    1. I have been with
    2. I am with you now.
    3. I will be with

When Jesus says I Am, I want to get as close as I can.

  2. What kinds of things have you or do you tend to root your identity in?
  3. Read John 8:55. How well would you say you know God?
  4. How obedient to God would you say you are?
  5. What is the connection between intimacy with God and surrender to God?
