An event for our entire Open Door church family to gather for great food, family friendly activities, conversations and hanging out together. We worship on 4 campuses so we don’t get to see each other often, so we make this our “family time.” Don’t miss connecting, competing and laughing til your face hurts.

Sunday, October 8th at 5pm at our Open Door Elyria Campus, 43275 Telegraph Road, Elyria.

What do I bring to the Pigtoberfest?

Since we are providing the pulled pork, paper products and drinks, we need YOU to bring the side dishes.  Each campus has been assigned a couple of items to bring.  It’s easy peasy!

Pick up an aluminum “half pan” starting  Sunday, Sept 17 through Oct 1, in the CrossRoads area at your campus, then prepare the item on the label. We’ll grab it from your car when you drive up for the event.

What items are each campus responsible for?

There are specific amounts of each item that we need to feed a group of this size.  We provide the pan and lid; you fill it.

Each pan has a label and are available to take on a first come-first serve basis.

Elyria – Cheesy potatoes; Green beans (with ham/bacon, or Green bean casserole preferred), Baked beans, Cookies (a batch/4 dozen)

Avon Lake – Sweet potato casserole (hash style), Coleslaw,  Green salad w/dressing, Cookies (a batch/4 dozen)

Vermilion – Mac ‘n cheese,  corn casserole, Sandwich buns, Cookies (a batch/4 dozen)

Where do I bring my food?

Beginning at 4:30 pm on 10/8,  a food line will be ready for ‘Drive-Thru’ Service.  Enter by the ODCS digital sign off of West Ridge, past the RNC for our volunteers to take your items.  We will be glad to keep them hot or cold!  (Bring hot foods heated, please).

Where do I park?

Event staff & volunteers that arrive early should park in the east side parking lot by the auditorium.  Those with limited mobility can park in the east side parking lot by the gym, or on the west side near the bus bench.

Where are we eating?

Tables will be set up in the gravel parking lot between the school and athletic fields. Bring a blanket or camping chairs if you want to eat inside the fences.

What can my kids do besides pig out?

There will be activities for everyone but specific areas are set up for kids.  There will be a toddler corral, bounce houses, horse-drawn buggy rides, and other kid-appropriate games.

I am a “big” kid, what fun stuff can I do?

We are bringing back The Campus Championship Trophy Football Game! (tell your campus pastor you are “in”!)  Enjoy the sand volleyball court,  9-square in the air,  and the traditional corn hole tournament.

Is there corn hole?

Yes, walk up registration during the event.  It will be set up single elimination tournament of 16 teams.  And yes, there will be a prize for winning!

Not into sports?
