Pastor Bob Wickens currently serves as Open Door’s Pastor of Adult Ministry, where he ministers to and serves the various needs of adults both in our congregation and in our community. Whether it’s helping people find the necessities of life, or helping them come to personally know the One who is Life itself, he loves the opportunity to serve others.
Bob was born and raised in Lorain, coming from a family with deep roots in its early history. He came to a personal faith in Christ during his senior year at Lorain High School. By the time he graduated from Baldwin-Wallace, he felt that God had called him to ministry. For the next three years, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary, and following graduation (M.Div.), served churches in Northern Ohio, later earning a M.A. in Evangelism at Scarritt Graduate School.
After serving churches in Northeast Ohio, he relocated to Cincinnati and had an opportunity to serve Christian organizations nationally in the area of Christian printing and publishing, until he felt God calling him to return home and opened a door for him to serve here at Open Door.
