Reading God’s Word: Acts 1:15-2:13, Psalm 78:30-37
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 78:32 (ESV) In spite of all this, they still sinned; despite his wonders, they did not believe.
Memorizing God’s Word: Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Praying God’s Word: “Father, sometimes we think that if we could only show the world miracles, signs, and wonders all opposition to the Gospel would evaporate and people would believe in great numbers. In our meditation today we are reminded that is not the case. Here the Israelites witnessed the mighty works of God in the Exodus, and at the end of the day their conclusion was that God took them out in the desert to kill them. In spite of all of the miracles they saw, they still did not believe. The only thing that will allow us to believe is the power of the Holy Spirit to transform us and allow us to see the truth that is in front of our eyes. Help us to rely on your Holy Spirit, and not any of our own devices, to reach others with the Gospel of Christ – only you can open blind eyes! Amen.”
