Reading God’s Word: 1 John 3:4-4:6, Psalm 143:1-3

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 53:5-6 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Meditating on God’s Word: 1 John 4:4 (ESV) Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, all too often we find ourselves falling into sin and the confusion of all of the voices around us.  We are constantly being subjected to error, false teaching, and the siren song of the evil one to go our own way and not yours.  In our meditation verse today we are given a great and comforting promise – you are greater than the world!  We do not have to live defeated and confused because as your children we have your Spirit within us – and the Holy Spirit in us is far greater than anything and anyone in the world! Help us to live in victory and confidence knowing that we are protected by your Holy Spirit.  Amen.”
