Reading God’s Word: Matthew 27:33-56, Psalm 24:7-10
Meditating on God’s Word: Matt. 27:34 There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it.
Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 23:1-2 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, even in your final moments you refused to numb the pain. You took it all Jesus. All the pain. All the hurt. All the anguish. So why? Why do I hold onto the pain you so willingly took for me? Why do I try to pay the price for something you already paid for? You refused the wine but you drank the cup. The cup of my sin, my guilt, my pain. You drank it to the dregs. Jesus, I give you my pain today. I give you my failures and my hurt. I cast them! I throw them at the foot of the cross. They’re not mine to carry. You buried them under the rubble of Golgotha. I throw them and receive your peace, your joy, your love. Amen.”
