Reading God’s Word: Hebrews 9:15-10:18, Psalm 135:15-21
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 135:15-18 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.
Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 10:25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, the idols of this world are so prevalent that I often can’t even see you. I want to see you, but the love of money blinds me…the love of my body blinds me…the love of sex blinds me…the love of comfort blinds me…Open my eyes Lord! Root out my idolatry! Allow me to tear down the high places that I’ve set up in my life. May I make every part of my life open to you and surrendered to you. Amen.”
